874 leads from two channels in four months.
A premium salon on OMR in Chennai, India. We ran only two channels: Meta Ads and Google Business Profile. No website, no SEO. A Chennai client, not a US one.
Illustrative mock-up. The figures are the salon's August Google profile numbers.
People nearby were already searching Maps.
The salon's profile was not built to turn that search into calls. We kept it fresh and tracked what mattered.
- Photos, posts and service details kept currentThe profile works as the salon's second storefront.
- Tracked on calls and direction requestsNot impressions. 77 calls and 106 direction requests in August.
- 13 new reviews in month one, all 5 starsReviews nearly tripled to 32 by July.

A full menu. No demand engine.
- No paid campaigns behind any treatmentA full treatment menu with nothing driving demand to it.
- Local intent unconvertedPeople nearby searched Maps for salons. The profile did not turn that into calls.
- No creative testingNo way to tell which treatment, offer or format produced bookings at a workable cost.
- Staffing as a growth ceilingA salon can only serve demand it has stylists for. Hiring became a marketing job too.
Two channels, run well.
Website, SEO and social were not part of this engagement. The results come from two channels only.
Split by service and radius.
Creative tested treatment by treatment. Hiring campaigns ran alongside lead campaigns.
Kept fresh, tracked on actions.
Photos, posts and service details updated. Measured on calls and direction requests.
Four months, month by month.
Launch
39 leads, cost per lead under target. One women's video drove 26 of the 39 leads. 13 new reviews, all 5 stars.
May 2026Split by service
210 leads, up 438%. Campaigns for men, women, keratin, hair spa and smoothening. A salon manager hiring campaign delivered 29 leads.
Jun 2026Scaled too fast
326 leads. Spend up 87%, leads up 55%, and cost per lead rose past the account ceiling. New Hydra Facial campaign; reviews nearly tripled to 32.
Jul 2026Pulled back on purpose
Spend cut 25%, 299 leads, cost per lead down 18%. One keratin video carried 148 leads. The new Hydra Facial ad added 54.
Aug 2026A choice, not a decline.
August spent 25% less than July and still delivered 299 leads. Cost per lead improved 18% for an 8% give-back in volume.
What went wrong, and what we did.
- July: cost per lead broke the ceilingSpend rose 87% while leads rose only 55%. Scaling outran creative. We cut spend 25%, backed the proven ad and launched a fresh one.
- August: Google profile access lostAccess dropped mid-month. Reviews fell from 32 to 19 and the rating slipped from 4.5 to 4.26. We recovered it. Views, calls and directions held steady.
- Still open: one dead campaignThe original May campaign delivered 2 leads in August. We will rebuild the creative or pause it in September.

Ads and a Google profile can be enough.
Start local
Local service businesses can get leads from ads and a Google profile alone.
Pull back when cost rises
Cutting spend when cost per lead rises is a decision, not a setback.
Hire and market together
Demand you cannot serve is wasted spend.
